Media aesthetics for junior students is an introduction to the general aesthetics with expanding theoretical discourses. Overall scanning of the traditional philosophy of arts from Plato to Nietzche including Aristoteles, Hume, Kant, Hegel and Heidegger will be introduced. Then, New media and new technologies are covered for considering aesthetic relationships between traditional throughts on arts and ideas of contemporary art. Students will practice and reconsider their ideas and thoughts on digital media and leading edged technologies reflecting cultural matter and current issues. Every week students have to follow up given readings presented by the professor and appointed students. By posting comments and summaries to each own blog, we can share our understanding and knowledge together.
